After seeing ruins after ruins it was time for our tour group to arrive to our next adventure. A long bus ride later we arrived to what looked like snow covered hills or as the locals call it Pamukkale. We later had found out that there were hot springs and travertines (in easier terms there were carbonate minerals in the flowing water) located in this city. The carbonate minerals inside the water had created the natural pools that you see in the pictures. Walking along these pools was the weirdest feeling. The bottom of the pool had a slippery feel to it but it almost felt sandy at the time. If you plan on going to Turkey this is a MUST SEE. Don't get discouraged by how many tourists there are at this location because it is a once in a lifetime kind of sight. |
